Palm Harbor Chamber Foundation

Chamber Foundation

The Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. was incorporated on July 23, 1997, to be the charitable and educational arm of the Chamber. The organization serves as a means to provide students living in the East Lake and Palm Harbor fire districts with monetary scholarships based upon merit, community involvement and other factors. In addition, the Foundation distributes teacher educational awards. Aside from education, the Foundation supplies monetary relief to less fortunate residents within the community, including an annual donation to FEAST food pantry; and offers assistance to local businesses.

As a 501(c)3, the Foundation provides an avenue for those wishing to make tax-deductible contributions for education, charity or business assistance.

The Foundation currently meets quarterly and designates committees as needed for scholarship selection or other projects. An annual meeting is held in the fall of each year, with five directors constituting a quorum. Special meetings may be called by the directors.

All past Chairmen of the Board of the Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce and other members of the community are eligible for membership in the Foundation as selected by the Board by a majority by closed ballot.

Foundation members provide support to the current Chamber Board, and some Foundation members have returned to serve on the Chamber Board for another term. Foundation members volunteer and assist with some Chamber functions, and attend Chamber meetings and events.
